There is a service at Capel Heol-galed Salem Chapel every Sunday at 2pm, apart from the 2nd Sunday in the month when the congregation worships at Capel Isaac.
Sioe Salem Show
The annual Salem Show takes place every year on August Bank Holiday Saturday, from 3pm, in the Memorial Hall and the adjacent community field.

Our Gŵyl Dewi celebration will be through the medium of Welsh with simultaneous interpretation provided.

The Salem Show
Held every August Bank Holiday Saturday for as long as we can remember, the Salem show is not to be missed. A proper old fashioned village show - with categories to enter your prize dahlias, carrots, tomatoes, cucumbers, craft and art sections, cookery - including Men Only baking prize - jams, preserves and photography. And for the non-gardeners? Tallest thistle, longest dock leaf - it’s yours for the taking!
Inside the hall the WI put on their famous afternoons teas, and outside there are stalls, a dog show and a hotly contested well-wanging competition.

Walking Treasure Hunt (3pm) and Cream Tea (4pm)
Join a family friend walking treasure hunt (1 mile) around Salem village, stating at the Memorial Hall. £2 per team
Followed by Cream Teas in the Hall. £5 each for cream tea (children £2.50)
Winning team receive 2 cream teas!!!
Come along for some family fun finding clues around the lanes and footpaths of Salem - about one mile. Should take around an hour.
Suitable footwear, no unaccompanied children, dogs on leads.

Salem 5km Run
Friday 1st August - Salem 5km Run
Back for a fourth year, this race is a slightly challenging 5km run in the hills around Salem. But what goes up must come down and there's a fast descent back to the finish line at the village hall.
Entry on the night only - £5 adults, £2 juniors.
Registration: 6pm. 2km Junior Race: 6:45pm (parent/guardian signature required on entry form).
5km Adult Race: 7:00pm
Free tea and coffee in the hall afterwards.
Kids Disco & Open Mike Night (with All Fired Up Pizza Co Llandovery)
A relaxed evening for children of all ages to showcase their creativity at Salem Memorial Hall - from music to drama and performance art. Starting with a Kids Disco 6-7pm, we’ve got a packed programme of young performers so come along and support our emerging talent! Pizzas can be ordered on the night and are served from 6pm throughout the evening. We will also have a Cash Only fully stocked bar and lots of soft drinks on sale for a fabulous family night out.
All welcome- free entry- donations on the door to cover cost of Hall hire.
All Fired Up Pizza Co Llandovery will be joining us from 6pm and serving through the evening. Choose 3 toppings from: red onion, ham, pepperoni, mushrooms, pineapple, goats cheese, olives, jalapeños, sweetcorn.

Songs of Peace and Hope 🕊️ With Ian Shimmin, Becca O'Hara and Rum Shunk
An atmospheric evening of music to reflect, connect and celebrate songs of peace and hope. Brilliant local musicians Ian Shimmin, Becca O'Hara and Rum Shunk will perform some of their own music, as well as some well known songs of peace and protest. Middle Eastern food offer kindly provided by Talley for Refugees before the performance.

About the Music
Ian Shimmin - a talented Llandeilo singer-songwriter originally from Liverpool - with huge warmth and depth to his music and an extensive repertoire which means Ian is booked out most weekends!
Becca O'Hara - A delightful mix of acoustic guitar, wafty ethereal vocals with the occasional shimmy of a tambourine. Self-penned songs that capture the real grit of every day living. Inspiration and muses range from Liverpool cab drivers to concerns about personal hygiene issues.
Rum Shunk - Rum Shunk derive their unique mellow harmony sound from influences such as Fleet Foxes, Midlake and The Staves. The band’s sound has evolved from folk-tinged beginnings to a more indie/stringed sound with a nod to the vintage tones of The Beatles and Neil Young. Subjects range from conversations with cats and fighting with renaissance painters interwoven between swelling strings and melodies.
About the Food
Thanks to Talley for Refugees we are able to offer a Middle Eastern vegetarian or vegan meal and dessert to all attendees for a small extra fee. Please pre-book as we can only cater for numbers booked and paid for in advance.

Join us on Saturday 25th January for a Burns Night fundraiser to help us bring improved facilities (including a permanent licensed cafe bar!) to Salem Memorial Hall. We’re over the moon that local band, the Gallstone Cowboys, will be riding on over from Llansadwrn to bring us good old fashioned Country & Western cheer in the depths of winter. Ymunwch â ni mewn gweithdy cymunedol cwbl ddwyieithog i archwilio opsiynau i wella ac ymestyn y cyfleusterau a gynigir yn Neuadd Goffa Salem. Trefnir y sesiwn hon fel rhan o’n prosiect a ariennir gan Lywodraeth Cymru a’i harwain gan yr ymgynghorwyr annibynnol Miller Research. Byddwn yn edrych ar ganlyniadau’r arolwg cymunedol a gynhaliwyd yn hydref 2024, ac yn archwilio opsiynau ar gyfer y safle.

Saturday 25th January, 10am-12noon at Salem Memorial Hall
Join us at a fully bilingual community workshop to explore options to improve and extend the facilities offered at Salem Memorial Hall. This session is organised as part of our Welsh Government funded project and led by independent consultants Miller Research. We will look at the results of the community survey carried out in Autumn 2024, and explore options for the site.

Services are held regularly every Sunday usually at 2:00pm apart from the second Sunday of the month when the congregation worships in Capel Isaac.
